okay….after about a week, my cells water turns into red/rusty water.  I have distilled/vinegar combo.  Is this the stainless?  What would cause this to rust in a week!

Try just Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) or Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and don't use vinegar. I been trying NaOH and the water seems to stay clear.

sorry, maybe I wasnt clear…..i could care less about the color of the water….it seems as though my plates start forming a nice coat of rust after about 5 hours of use, and the rust falls to the bottom of the generator and creates a thick goop of rust ans water mixture….

Yes, the water gets rusty because the vinegar is very strong and removes all the impurity of the stainless. I use it to clean my stainless when I get it. What I'm trying to get to is to try not to use it for at least one water cycle to see how it work with your plates.

Are you doing good with your mpg?

well everytime I change out my units I have to start over and that takes about 3 hours beofere the thing is a rust pit.  I have a hard time beleiveing that US distilled water is that much different than Canadian distilled water, and it could cause a unit to look like its been at the bottom of the ocean for 18 years after 5 hours use.  So, I will be getting new uinits in, and getting US (walmart) 'great value' brand before jumping to any conclusions.  So as of right now, I am back to where I was 4 months ago….I'll let you know what I come up with…..this is begining to be more of a burden than value….is there anyone in your area actually setting up shop and installing these units commercially?

I have not heard of any shop opening just to do system installations but I have seen more that one advertising the installations and the systems. We also install this systems locally.

with the right connections, do you think its feasible to install these commercially….like a 'jiffy lube' does for oil changes?  Or is there too many intermittent problems that come up?

Exactly,

You sound like you're pretty handy and look how frustrated you get when something goes wrong. Imaging someone that can even change the oil in their cars. I have a lot of customers that they don't even want to use the forum to ask questions on how to used the product and they don't understand that this is in the testing stages even thoughthere's people that claim that they have found the magic formula (check eBay and YouTube). For me every car that I install or help to install a system on is a new experience. As long as someone don't make a software that can read and send the information of the system to the car's computer is going to be hard for a big company to trust the system. In the mean time this is for someone that is willing to acept that this system is far from perfect.

Robert.

PS. I might be wrong but I don't think we even know how much of the gas that the generator produce is hydrogen, oxygen or just steam and it will be nice if we can just use the hydrogen and let the oxygen vent. If we can do that, then we don't have to be adjusting the sensors it would work like the Compressed Natural Gas system (CNG).
