Hey John,

You should seriously consider putting a pulse width modulator (PWM) rated at 30 amps between your battery and your hho unit. With that, you can control the amperage to the unit to prevent overheating. Without it, you have to guess at the right mix of chemicals. Most of us use them for safety's sake.

Think of a nuclear reactor without any controls and you get the idea, your unit can overheat and overamp, destroying your wiring, the unit and anything else that gets in the way. You can find PWMs in lots of places, do a google search for them.

 Hope this helps.

 John

thank you for your input. i also believe i am using way to much salt. we are going to try hooking it back up and decreasing the salt as you suggest and also keeping the amprege draw down. i will let you know how it works.

Hello John,

That sounds like is alot of salt and that other stuff you adding to the gallon(guessing) of water. You have to find out the amperage that the unit is running at and then adjust the electrolyte by adding less salt. I can not tell you the exact formula because every set up is different. Try to keep the cell at around 20 amps or less. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Robert

i have purchased a gas4free system, built my fuel cell, but when i use their formula of 1 bottle of water, 5 tablespoons of salt, and 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide my fuel cell overheats rapidly and i am afraid it is going to explode. i am waiting and waiting for an answer from their tech department but they seem to take forever to answer. i only have a few more days to complete my conversion so i hope someone can help answer my question of why this is occuring.

John,

I got them and send you an email. Before you get the pot check the green/red wire to make sure that it is a frequency sensor, I looked at the diagram and it looks like your other Honda. Try to check the resistance on the other Honda so we can replace that pot with a resistor and then you can use this pot in this new Honda.

To check the resistance put both leads of the ohm meter on each end of the pot wires with the engine off.

Let me know

Did you get the pictures I sent? The O2 extender is now in, so ready for the rest. What is your recommendation for potentiometer/enhancer? John

John,

Thanks. I saw the order a little while ago. I'm still in the hospital and I'll be back tomorrow and will send it asap. Please send me a picture of where you're gonna install the unit for me to glue the fitting on the right direction and if you have any preference in color other than black.

Don't get the pot yet, we don't know if is the same system we need to check it first but you can get the extensions and start working on those. Definetly we can work something out.

Thank you again.

Robert, will try to check the resistance when I get home today. Also, sent a paypal order in for the generator and bubbler this morning, going to put it on our 2005 Honda Civic. Should I go ahead and geta 25 ohm pot for the ground wire of the map sensor for it also (assuming that the system is similar to our Accord)?

Also, one of my wife's friends will probably be contacting to order a unit soon. And I could see the possibility of installing a bunch of these for folks here in our area. Maybe we could work out an arrangement together for bulk pricing of units?

 Thanks, John

Remember the resistor was 10 ohms and the enhancer just the potentiometer if you're using the one with the water4gas specs is 50,000 ohm (50k ohm). The potentiometer you're using now is only 25 ohm max, so it goes from 0 ohm to 25 ohm. It will be nice if you can tell me the resistance that you're using that way we can replace that bulky pot for a resistor.

Why did the radio shack potentiometer work on the ground wire of the map sensor, when the map enhancer did not, nor did the resistors, on the sensor wire of the map sensor? Just wondering... John

HI Robert,

I filled up the tank, set the trip odometer to 0 and went on the interstate and drove out 24 miles and came back. Stopped at the same gas station and filled up again with .88 gallon. So it was a manual check.

I think that is going to be my next step, buying a scan gauge 2

I did see a 2 mpg gain , but that was before I installed the 02 extender, have not checked since, dont know if the engine light being on will hurt results or not, we will see in a couple more days.hopefully the results will be better.

Thanks.

I don't if I have mention this but I'm having a BOY (I mean, my wife is having a boy). This week I been in and out of the hospital because my wife is low on amniotic fluid and she's only 35 weeks in to the pregnancy, she needs to be 37 weeks to give birth. Right now I'm using the Internet in the hospital because she's getting an IV to hydrate her, if the fluid does not go back to normal tomorrow, I'm having that boy tomorrow.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience I will do it as soon as I can.

Back to the car.

Can you read the code?

You should get a code reader, that way you can see what going on everytime that light comes on. Try the auto part store.

What about the mileage, have they got any better or you're still testing.

Thanks,

Robert
