Let see how much gas is your Generator really producing.

I’m aware that this device it’s not 100% accurate, that it’s home-made and that it’s NOT professional. If you have a better way to build it, please let us know and we will post it in the site. Just make sure that the parts required are not hard to find. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s get started.

Parts that I recommend you need for this project (It is your project and you are free to use whatever fits your needs):

  • 16.9 oz bottle of water.
  • 2 liter soda bottle or something similar that is clear.
  • A container with a scale of ounces.
  • Epoxy (To glue the hose to the container).
  • 3/8″ hose.

  • This is what I’m using to measure the ounces

  • First we’ll get the measuring device and fill it up to the 8oz mark, then transfer those 8 ounces of water in the 16.9oz bottle of water. Put it upside down then mark the water line with a sharpie.

  • Now, just cut the bottom of the bottle like the picture above and you are ready to start with the 2 liter bottle.

  • Cut the top part of the 2 liter bottle so that the small 16oz bottle goes right through it. Now just drill a 3/8″ hole at the bottom of the 2 liter bottle and insert the 3/8″ hose for about 3″ inches, then glue the hose to the bottle and we’re done.

To use it, connect the hose to the discharge port of your  Generator and fill the bottle with water. Take the cap of the small bottle and submerge the bottle in the water, place back the cap while the bottle is completely submerged.

When you start the Generator the gas will displace the water in the small bottle filling it with gas. All you have to do now is time how long it takes the gas to get to the 8oz line that we made at the beginning of the project.

A liter is roughly 33oz, if it takes 15 seconds for the gas to get to the 8oz line, then your  Generator is producing about 1 liter per minute of gas at that specific voltage/.

If you learned how to build this device, GREAT!. This is going to help you understand the principles on how to measure the gas or any gas for that matter BUT… I’M GONNA BUILD ME ONE OF THIS.

Good luck with this project and don’t forget to post your constructive opinion.
